Message to Parents and Guardians:
McCook Public Schools is experiencing a sizable number of students that are being placed in quarantine due to peer interactions in small social groups after school and on weekends where one of the students or a supervising parent has been infected with COVID-19. Please understand that students who are placed in quarantine are likely to miss two weeks of school each time they are quarantined, and while the schools do offer virtual learning opportunities to quarantined students, the virtual classroom can never be as high of quality as in classroom learning.

If your student must interact with peers outside of school, please make sure to have your student
and their peers mask up if they cannot social distance. When students wear masks they greatly reduce the risk of infection as well as the likelihood of being quarantined.

MPS COVID-19 Tracker

McCook Public Schools is keeping track of the number of students and staff with active cases of COVID-19, recovered cases, and those who are currently quarantined due to direct contact with an infected person or who have shown symptoms and are awaiting test results. Please understand that those who are currently quarantined may not have the COVID virus, and those showing symptoms might be showing symptoms caused by some other common illnesses or condition.
MPS COVID-19 Tracker

McCook Public Schools will be notified weekly on local conditions by the Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department. We will then share their updated information with patrons on this page.

Special Notice
Parents, please make sure that you keep all of your children home from school if one of your children is being tested for COVID-19. Once the testing is complete and you receive your results, you can discuss with the school nurse or Southwest Nebraska Public Health Department your options.

Aviso Especial

Please do not send sick students to school
No envíe estudiantes enfermos a la escuela

Due to a number of students coming to school with illnesses, we are reminding parents not send their sick children to school. Sending sick students to school spreads viruses and illnesses. If you want to keep schools open, please help us by keeping sick students at home. Thank you!

¡Gracias!
